THE LOCKOUT HAS ENDED !!

Finally, the 149 day lockout(The second longest lockout ever) of the NBA has settled and an agreement has been made. The nuclear winter of the NBA is over.
A 15 hour session of negotiating between the NBA and the players took place in New York City on Black Friday and lasted until early Saturday morning at around 3 AM. Usually the season starts around 30 days from the date of the agreement.
The 2011-2012 season will begin on Christmas Day and will consist of 66 games. Training camps and the free agency will both start simultaneously on December 9th. This gives teams only a couple weeks to prepare for the season.
The three Christmas games that are to take place are - Miami Heat at the Dallas Mavericks; Chicago Bulls at the Los Angeles Lakers; as well as the Boston Celtics at the New York Knicks. This should be a great start to the season!

Talks about the lockout ending!

Talks about the lockout ending has occurred and they are expecting to have some games started by christmas! The talks started on Tuesday and was expected to continue through Thanksgiving day. There is still hope for the season to come back.
The plan was to start a 72 game season on December 15th, but the players did not agree to the last offer.
There will probably be a 66 game season if they decide soon enough. In 1998-1999, they had a 50 game season when the lockout ended that year and that didn't end till January. There is still hope of games this season! It will take roughly 30 days to start the season from the date that the agreement is made.
The players could be awarded with almost 6 billion dollars in damages if they don't settle this deal and risk a trial.
They are intended on a 50-50 split of all income that is basketball related, even though they were guaranteed 57 percent.
So there is still hope for a season this year more than likely after Christmas! Everyone stay tuned for more details!

Latest news of the lockout

You knew it was a matter of time before the players started to come up across the opportunity of going across seas to play professional basketball during the lockout.
Dwayne Wade was the latest player to decide to have a look around for what his opportunities could be for oversea basketball. He tells the press that he has missed a year of basketball once, and he's not going to miss another. " I don't have too many years of basketball left."
Word is that Kevin Durant's agent was talking things out with a team in Germany! The team was also going to let him have the flexibility of leaving whenever the lockout was finished up.
This is horrible news, who agrees ?
The 140th day of the lockout had proceeded on Thursday.
This is still an ongoing situation, and despite all of the legal issues going on, who knows when we are going to see the some fluky trays, outstanding dunks, as well as killer crossovers.
There are beliefs that there is enough time on the calender that this could all be turned around and we could see the game in which we love.
Everyone is wondering about the stars of the league and what is to become of them. Those like Derrick Rose, Chris Paul, and all the younger people who has so much potential.
They say that they will try to come to another agreement at the end of December.
